The mosquitos have not been nice to me this summer.  I am like a mosquito magnet.  Part of this, I'm sure, is that I filled up my daughter's kiddie pool for her and then forgot to dump it, which created a mosquito fantasy land!

I thought I would try out this Wing Wing Mosquito Bracelet to deter the mosquitoes.

The bracelet itself is actually kind of cute.  It is a white band with a pink citronella insert.  I'm not sure the bands would fit well for most men, but I have small wrists so it fit me fine.  I looked at the package to see if there were any special instructions, but all of the labeling was in Korean.  The only part I understood were three cute pictures of families outside, having fun.  So that's what I decided to do--go outside and have some fun.

My husband and I met up with my dad for an afternoon of canoeing and kayaking.  We spent several hours on the river seeing how far we could paddle before the water got too shallow.

After bringing to boats up on shore I made a trip up to the bathhouse and discovered I had been bit four different places on my legs.  I wondered if maybe I was too tall for the range of the citronella.  I'm not freakishly tall, but, at 5'10" I'm not exactly short either.

I had read on some of the reviews that the bands could also be worn around your ankles.  Because the band has a little bit of give to it I was able to get it around my ankle, but it was too tight to leave there.  I tried attaching it to my shoe instead.  I was disappointed to discover that I still got bit.

I love the style of the bands.  They look kind of sporty and if it weren't for the citronella smell, no one would even realize it was for mosquitoes.  The problem is that it just doesn't work.
